Swimming, Roller Skating, Haircuts & Home Depot

Monday was Graham's preschool conference. He is doing well, he shares well and likes his friends and school. He loves snack and he loves to stay for lunch, really school is about eating and being with his friends. He also scored well on playing on the big play structure, climbing, etc., standard 3 year old stuff. I'm just so glad he likes to go and begs to stay, that is the goal of preschool for us, learning to love school. On Tuesday there was no school for Claire or Graham, so we had haircuts in the morning and went up to mom's work for lunch. Then we went to swimming lessons early and did the free swim. It was nice for all of us, I haven't been in the pool swimming with them since school started and they have missed the extra swim time. The teachers and lifeguards really get a kick out of Graham, he is silly and funny. When he leaves class he says see ya later alligator. Once class he forgot to say it and ben yelled after him, see you later alligator and Graham yelled back in awhile crocodile! His evaluation said he was a joy to have in class and he has a great personality. Not sure why Claire finishes this swim with a chicken dance.....but it is funny and random...
For Veterans Day we went roller skating with friends. It was pretty busy but we had a good time. Graham wouldn't go out on the rink for the first hour, then they did Hokey Pokie and he wanted to go out. Once the game was over we went around once and then we got ready to go. Claire brought her in line skates, she did roller skates for about half the time and blades for the second. She says she prefers the roller blades. Next time I am making her wear a helmet, not sure why that didn't occur to me sooner.... A quick treat at the snack counter that turned into an hour long nightmare, that story would turn this post into a small novella..... Claire singing Grand Old Flag.....

Warren and Claire made it out bright and early to the kids workshop class, this week she made a picnic caddy. The glue is still drying, but she plans to paint it the colors of the rainbow.
Here are the tiles for the laundry room/downstairs bath, it is moving along.....
They both passed their swim lessons this session, to celebrate we went to see AstroBoy. I imagine they will both be at the next level for a while. Graham needs to swim 4 tall arm strokes and back float w/kicking for 3 body lengths. For Claire's class she will work on increasing the distance she swims from 35 feet to 60 feet for both front and back strokes. Seems like a huge jump to me. She also begins diving.
It was a great weekend, Warren and I continue to do many wonderful things around the house. We have fun things this upcoming week, first official Daisy troop meeting, first 1st grade playdate at someone else's house, new swim session starts, Claire school conference, family fun night and bookclub for me. Updates on all of that next weekend! Enjoy your week!
